The ALIAWest Icebreaker for 2011 was a popular event with more than 50 people attending, including 13 students and new graduates. The newly completed Central Institute of Technology (CIT) proved to be the perfect venue to hear three speakers report back from the 15th ALIA Information Online Conference. Thanks to Carmel O’Sullivan, Linda Papa and Jan Rutherford for giving us the benefit of their conference highlights.
The event was also an opportunity for ALIA Director, Andrew Hocken, to present the ALIA YBP/Lindsay & Croft Research Award for Collection Services to Dr Paul Genoni. The evening concluded with a tour of the new CIT Library and a chance to network over drinks and nibbles with colleagues from across the library sector.
