Sharr Medal and Library Board of WA Award for Excellence 2012


To celebrate Library & Information Week 2012, ALIAWest and the State Library of Western Australia invite you to the presentation of the Sharr Medal, and the Library Board of Western Australia Award for Excellence.  In addition, the State Library of Western Australia Foundation will announce the winner of the inaugural Kay Poustie Scholarship which takes the form of an International Study Grant.

When:   Tuesday 22 May 2012
Time:    5:30pm for 6:00pm start
Where:  Great Southern Room (4th floor), State Library of Western Australia

Network with colleagues, enjoying music and refreshments before and after the presentations.

Information about the Awards:
·         The F A Sharr Medal is awarded to a Western Australian librarian or library technician in their first year of employment who exhibits the most potential to make a significant contribution to the library profession in WA.
·         The Library Board of Western Australia Award for Excellence recognises excellence and innovation in the library sector by any person, library or organisation in Western Australia. 
·         The Kay Poustie Scholarship recognises Kay’s immense contribution to the library profession throughout her career and her belief in an international perspective for the profession.  The International Study Grant and will enable a WA-based librarian to travel overseas to learn more about innovative library practices and to bring that knowledge back to Western Australia
