2021 Committee

The ALIAWest committee are a group of passionate, engaged information professionals who represent the library and information community in WA. We organise social, professional development and other interesting events for the LIS sector across WA.

Convenor: Taylor Coventry
Taylor has been working in WA libraries for the past 10 years, starting her career as a Library Officer for the City of Perth . She currently works as a Lifelong Learning Librarian for The City of Canning and an eContent selector for the State Library of WA. Taylor is passionate about digital literacy and  in her spare time, she loves taking photos, gaming and sampling gin.

Nicola is the Systems and Circulation Technician in the Client Engagement Team at Curtin University, providing frontline services to all library clients. She is currently building on her BA Librarianship and Corporate Information Management by studying towards a Graduate Diploma in Local, Family and Applied History at the University of New England

Camille has qualifications in librarianship, archives and records management, and will be adding a data management qualification at the end of 2018. Camille currently works for an oil and gas company and has been on the ALIAWest committee or its predecessors since 2001.


Secretary:  Monique Aviso
Monique is a Library Technician in the Collections Team at Curtin Library. She has worked for community arts and workplace training. She is raising rebellious girls and needy pets in her tiny city apartment, as well as numerous veggies in the community garden. Her newfound hobby is quilting.

Noreen has experience in academic, special & Indigenous libraries. She's a life-long learner with AALIA (CP) and has research interests in bibliometrics, open access publishing & history.


Lori Mansell
Lori completed a Diploma of Library and Information Services in July 2020 and is currently studying a Cert III in Business while working as an Administration Officer at the Boyup Brook Community Resource Centre. She is also assisting the CRC in the process of arranging for the local library (currently located at the shire offices) to be moved and relocated at the Community Resource Centre.




Kristin Stephenson

Kristin is a public librarian. Her focus is collection development and organising events for adults and seniors. In her spare time, you can find Kristin devouring everything from chic lit to high fantasy novels, practising flute and piccolo, and crafting up a storm.




Sandra MacIntyre
Sandra started her career in WA Libraries and Record achieves sector 20 years ago and now works in the UWA Reid Library as a Senior Library Officer in the Research & Data Service team. In her spare time she loves watching movies and spending time with her son and mum.




Elena Smirnova
Lena is currently a student in the Diploma in Library and Information Services course at NM TAFE. In April 2021 she enjoyed her work experience at the City of Perth Library. 
She has been volunteering for Birtwistle Local Studies Library in Armadale since 2018 and last year became a volunteer for the State Library of WA to help with events and surveys. 
Her hobbies are knitting and yoga.
