The ALIAWest committee would like to thank library colleagues and friends, the State Library of WA (SLWA) and sponsors for supporting The Great Library Quiz Night 2015. The event was held at the SLWA on the evening of the Thursday, 3rd December. The quiz night raised over $1080 which assists to fund the Kay Poustie Scholarship and Sharr Award. Major sponsors were OverDrive, Bolinda, James Bennett and Wave Sound.
The event was well attended by nearly 80 people who answered six rounds of questions. Bonus points were earned by completion of a quiz sheet to name Disney movie titles and characters; and creating a book title, first sentence and illustration which represented their team name.
The Heads and Tails game was played with a ‘Grimm’ difference, and teams were rewarded if the judges found an answer to be funny or outrageous, but incorrect. The most outrageous answer was R rated!
Kym Andrews, ALIAWest’s 2016 Convenor, presented Camille Peters with a thank you gift as past Convenor. Thank you for your many years of hard work Camille.
The Thinking Cats won first prize and earned the highest bonus points for their book creation.
The next ALIAWest Great Library Quiz night will be held in December 2016, and the committee look forward to another successful evening.
