Nominations for ALIA Board

Hi WA

Please consider nominating to be on the ALIA Board. If anyone wants to know from a first hand experience about the benefits of the experience please contact me.

Be a leader for your profession

ALIA is calling for nominations for the 2012-2014 Board of Directors. Board membership is an excellent career development opportunity as well as a chance to shape the future of our profession and our industry. It is a way of developing new skills, meeting decision makers and thought provokers and engaging with colleagues in the public and private sectors.

ALIA is involved in professional development, advocacy for libraries and librarians and influencing policy development across the special, law, academic, school, state and national and public library sectors. The ALIA Board needs representation from a diversity of sectors, geography, backgrounds and interests so that the industry and the profession can cohesively plan for the future. It is an exciting time to be involved in ALIA and offers significant personal and professional development, which in turn enables Board members to contribute more to their own organisations.
Current ALIA Board members are happy to discuss what being an ALIA Board member is all about.

You can find contact details of Board members on the ALIA website.
